“This past year, while seeking treatment at a fertility clinic, I was diagnosed with PCOS. Additionally, I needed to have a large fibroid removed from my uterus. These words were all new to me and the more I learned, the more I realized that I knew so little about my body and what she could do. Not long after, I was skimming a women’s health magazine. And noticed that there no information here about PCOS or fibroids, but plenty of advice to help me lose weight. (It always comes back to the weight.) I wanted something more.

Hag Bodies is meant to provide a space to talk about our bodies without the pressures of fitting into a rigid standard of “beautiful” or “healthy.” We want to embrace our hag bodies, no matter the gender, size, or shape, and create a space to discuss the parts that are wondrous, terrifying, interesting, debilitating, and strong.”
